Early-Stage Researcher
Yara Huppelschoten obtained her Bachelor´s degree in Chemistry at the Hogeschool Leiden, the Netherlands. During her bachelor, she performed a 9-month internship at the laboratory of Prof. Huib Ovaa at The Netherlands Cancer Institute. She worked on a variety of projects such as the synthesis of small molecules, chemical libraries and chemical probes. She also studied a minor in biopharmaceutical analysis, which got her interested in more than organic chemistry.
She therefore started a Master in Molecular Pharmacology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She performed a 7-month internship at the laboratory of Prof. Rob Leurs, where she mainly focused on the pharmacological characterization of photoswitchable ligands for the histamine 3 receptor. Yara obtained her Master’s degree in August 2018, and moved to Copenhagen to pursue her PhD at Novo Nordisk.
